Toys for Bored Goldfish

It sometimes appears to me that the indoor goldfish get blase', bored. I change around their decorative rocks from time to time to change up their environment, create a new swimming obstacle. This week I added a well-washed plastic Dole cup (the kind fruit comes in). It floats around til it hits the waterfall flow, then swoons down in the current. Blitzen, our largest goldfish, seems to like sticking his head into it, bopping it. Shebunkin, the one who I was specifically hoping to amuse, doesn't pay one bean of attention to it at all. I'm still looking for toy ideas for him....

  1. Update on the Dole Play-Cup - I wouldn't recommend it! Poor little Brutus somehow got himself entirely into the cup as it floated upward to the top of the tank, then rode in it like a floating child's boat. His flopping was reducing the amount of water in the floating upright cup when we heard and realized what was happening. Good thing we were home!

I guess I should have added the disclaimer "Don't try this at home" to the above post!

I had not heard of fish school kit, but will definitely check it out and google it, thank you!

The plants in your tank: are they real or artificial? They look so pretty.

ANY SUGGESTIONS??????? I THOUGHT OF 4 BY 4 BOARD ON FLOOR 7 or 8 feet TO SPREAD OUT ALL THAT WEIGHT. i want tank maybe 2 feet off ground so easier to clean.
